How to Play

Play Jolly Jong Math online for free. Jolly Jong Math is a 10-stage equation builder game where players must select two tiles which satisfied an equation given the output result and the arithmetic operator used in the equation. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the Play button on the left side of the welcome screen to start the game.
The welcome screen has Help, High Scores & More Games buttons near the play button.
The lower left corner of the welcome screen has a language select dropdown.
The lower right corner of the welcome screen has buttons for sharing the game on social media, reading game developer information & installing the game in your web browser as a web app.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select 2 stones which solve the given equation.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the stones on the screen with a finger to select stones to solve the given equation.
    - Controls & indicators
      - On the left side of the screen there are buttons to control game music, control game sound, pause the game, switch to full screen mode, or take a hint. You can take up to 3 hints.
      - Left of the stones in the playing field is the equation you must solve.
      - Across the top there is a timer meter showing how much time you have remaining to beat the current level.
      - On the right side of the screen it shows your cumulative game score, what level number you are on, and how many of the 20 equations you have solved.
      - Game Play
        Game basics
        In the upper left there is a portion of an equation shown like 3 (-).
        The above would read as X – Y = 3.
        To solve the equation you have to select two tiles which act as the X and Y to solve the above equation.
        Selecting stones
        You can select any stone on the playing field. The stone does not need to be open on either side.
        If you select the wrong stone then you can select another stone to deselect it.
        All equations must be solved using only 2 stones.
        Each time you solve an equation you are given another equation & 2 new stones fall into the playing field from above.
        Timing
        Across the top of the screen there is a timer bar indicating how much time you have remaining to beat the current level.
        If you run out of time on a level it is game over.
        If you are about to run out of time you can refresh your browser window rather than clicking the game over button and replay the current level.
        You should try to ensure the ratio of the 20 problems you have solved matches or exceeds the depleted time on the timer so that if you get stuck near the end of a level you still have sufficient time to beat it.
        On each stage you can use up to 3 hints to help you solve an equation.
        Super useful tiles
        Some tiles are highly valuable for helping you solve many different equations.
        The number 1 can be used with many other tiles to solve common multiplication or division equations.
        Tiles valued at 2, 3 and 4 can also be useful for solving many equations.
        If you have plenty of time remaining relative to your game progress you can try to save some of the better tiles to help you later.
        If your timer is more short then you can use the better tiles early.
        Levels
        This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        On each level you need to solve 20 equations to unlock the next level.
        You can use up to 3 hints on each level. Your hints are restored on the next level.
        Early in the game you have addition & subtraction equations, then as you advance multiplication and division equations are added into the mix. You also have to make some larger matches using higher valued tiles in some later levels.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like brain teaser math games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
