How to Play

Play Forest Mahjong online for free. Forest Mahjong is a 100-stage jungle-themed Mahjong Solitaire tile-matching game. Pair identical open stones to clear them from the stack. Remove the entire stack before the timer runs out to win. Finishing clearing the stacks as fast as you can to earn better scores and star ratings. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select Play to begin.

Select Help to learn about the rules of the game.
Select High Scores to view the leaderboard.
Use the gear button on the bottom right corner to access the following options:
- Select the speaker and music buttons to turn the game’s audio on or off.
- Select Reset to clear your game progress.
- Use the drop-down list on the bottom left corner to choose the game’s language.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

    - With your mouse, left click on the stones to select them.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap on the stones with your fingers to select them.
      - Controls and indicators
        The games controls and indicators are located on the right side of the screen. From the top, they are as follows:
        Timer
        Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes
        Level number
        Level score
        Pause button
        Hint button
        Shuffle button
        Speaker button: Turns the game’s audio effects on and off
        Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
        The level selection screen has the following controls
        On the center are the icons for each level, which look like eggs. Unlocked icons resemble hatched birds.
        On either side of the icons are navigation buttons. Use these to browse through the icon pages.
        On the bottom row are the following entries:
        Menu button: Brings you back to the welcome screen
        Total score
        Play button: Plays the selected level
        Game Play
        Levels
        Levels are unlocked sequentially.
        You begin a playthrough on the first level.
        Finishing one level automatically unlocks the next one.
        Selecting Next Level on the win screen brings you back to the level selection screen.
        The game has 100 levels.
        You can replay any of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
        Basic rules
        Select 2 identical stones to remove them from the stack.
        Only free stones can be paired.
        Free stones have no stone above them and at least one side (left or right) without an adjacent stone next to it.
        The game highlights the free stones with a lighter background color. Stones which are not free have a darker background color.
        Remove the entire stack before the level’s timer runs outs.
        Your star rating and bonus points depend on how fast you finish the level.
        You fail the level if you run out of time before clearing the whole stack.
        You can try again, as this game offers unlimited continues.
        You can also end the playthrough there. This lets you save your final score on the leaderboard, though erases your gameplay information.
        Scoring
        You have 2 scores in this game:
        Your level score represents the sum of all the points you earned in every level you played.
        Each pair you remove is worth 200 points.
        After finishing the level, you also receive bonus points depending on how much time you have left in the timer.
        Each level’s score appears below its icon on the selection screen.
        You can change your level score by replaying the level and finishing with a higher score.
        Your total score represents the score you earned on every level.
        To boost your score, unlock more levels or beat your previous score on levels you’ve played before.
        You can save your total score on the leaderboard through the following options:
        Finish all 100 levels.
        End your playthrough after a game over.
        You also receive a star rating for each level.
        Your highest rating is 3 stars.
        The star rating depends on how fast you finish the game.
        Use the timer to determine your possible star rating. The notches on the timer mark the threshold for each star.
        Assistance
        Hints
        Select the hint button to highlight a valid pair somewhere in the stack.
        Each hint costs 300 points.
        Shuffles
        Shuffles change the arrangement of the tiles in the stack.
        Each shuffle costs 500 points.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire tile match games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
