How to Play

Play Mahjong tiles online for free. Mahjong Tiles is a simple Mahjong Solitaire game. Clear out a stack of tiles by matching pairs of identical tiles. Remove all the tiles before the level timer runs out to beat each stage & play through 100 fun levels. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

On the welcome screen, select play to begin.
Select Help to learn the rules of the game.
Select High Scores to view the leaderboard
Use the drop-down list on the bottom left corner of the screen to select a language for your game.
Use the gear button on the bottom left to open the following gameplay options:
- Select the speaker and music buttons to turn the game’s audio on or off.
- Select Reset to clear your game progress.
- Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.

    - With your mouse, left click on the stones to select them.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Tap on the stones with your fingers to select them.
      - Controls and indicators
        The game’s controls and indicators are shown on the right side. From the top, they are as follows:
        Enlarge button: Lets you switch between windowed and full-screen modes
        Level number
        Level score
        Level timer
        Pause button
        Speaker button: Turns the game’s audio effects on and off
        Music button: Turns the game’s music on and off
        Shuffle button
        Hint Button
        The level select screen shows your total cumulative game score and score by level.
        Game Play
        Levels
        Levels are unlocked sequentially.
        Only the first level is playable at the start of the game.
        Finishing one level unlocks the next one.
        If you ever end with a game over, you have 2 choices:
        You can try again.
        You can end the game there. This allows you to save your score to the leaderboard.
        There are 100 levels in this game.
        You can replay any of the levels you’ve already unlocked.
        Pick out the level you want to replay on the level selection screen.
        Basic rules
        Match pairs of identical stones to clear them from the field.
        To make a group, select one stone, then select an identical one.
        You can only pair free stones.
        A free stone has no stone on top of it and one side (left or right) with no adjacent stone.
        The game helpfully highlights all the free stones with a lighter background color & stones that are not open have a grayed out background color.
        Only open stones can be selected & they are highlighted in orange when selected.
        Clear the entire stack before the timer runs out to win the level.
        The first level starts with 4 minutes on the clock.
        Later levels, with more tiles, have longer time limits.
        Scoring
        Your level score represents the number of points you earned clearing a specific level.
        Each group of stones you remove is worth 200 points.
        You also receive 30 points for every second left on the clock.
        View each level score below the level’s icon on the selection screen.
        Your total score is the sum of all the level scores you’ve earned throughout your playthrough.
        If you replay a level, your total score will only change if your new score exceeds the previous high score for the level.
        You can view your total score on the bottom center of the selection screen.
        You can save your total score on the leaderboard by meeting the following conditions:
        You win all 100 levels.
        You stop playing after a game over.
        Assistance
        For a price, you can use shuffles and hints to help you out.
        Shuffles will rearrange all the stones in the stack.
        A shuffle costs 500 points.
        This game does not have an auto-shuffle function. If you run out of moves, you must shuffle to continue the game.
        Hints will highlight a valid group of stones in the stack. Each hint costs 300 points.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for players who like Mahjong Solitaire tile matching games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
