How to Play

Play Hefty Shaman online for free. Hefty Shaman is a 14-stage platformer game where you must collect tribesmen and bring them plus a rain stone to the altar to conduct rain dances. Avoid hitting sharp objects or getting caught in a shockwave from the bison. Jump and create shockwaves to take out the bison which are in your way. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the gray and black Play button on the game loading screen.
On the welcome screen select the level you would like to play.
- Initially only the first level is accessible.
- Levels must be completed in sequential order to unlock the subsequent level.
- Buttons for locked levels are gray and buttons for unlocked levels are brown.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Use the arrow keys or WASD keys to move.
    - Move left with the left arrow key or the A key.
    - Move right with the right arrow key or the D key.
    - Jump with the spacebar, the up arrow key, or the W key.
    - Press the R key to restart the level.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - This game was designed for desktop play on computers with a connected keyboard.
      - Controls & indicators
        
        The upper left corner of the game has a level select button.
        
        The upper right corner of the game has a restart level button.
        
        Game Play
        
        Goal
        
        The goal of this game is to conduct a rain dance ceremony, which is done after collecting all tribe members & bringing the rain stone to the altar.
        
        Jumping
        
        When you land on regular ground you cause a shockwave. If you jump from a higher platform you can create a larger shockwave when you land.
        
        You do not cause shockwaves when you jump onto a part of a tree or purple bricks.
        
        You can walk on the rain stone to use it as a temporary platform.
        
        You can not destroy it by jumping on it.
        
        When you land on a platform with the rain stone it will bounce away from you.
        
        Careful not to bounce the rain stone too far into an area where it can not be retrieved.
        
        Gray stones break when you jump on them.
        
        Dying
        
        You can not defeat the bison by landing on them. You must instead defeat them with a shockwave while avoiding their shockwaves.
        
        If you run into sharp objects or stand on shaking ground you die.
        
        This game offers unlimited continues.
        
        You start at the beginning of the level you died on.
        
        Levels
        
        The game has 14 levels which must be completed sequentially. Tips for individual levels are published below. If you get stuck on any levels feel free to leave a comment below for advice.
        
        Level 10: you do not need to destroy all the bison. If you can beat the level without fighting one then skip it.
        
        Level 11: when jumping across the bottom area use every other stone so that the remaining stones are available on your way back.
        
        Level 12: you can avoid the bison on the top platform.
        
        Level 14: jump over the bison to the right and hit him with a shockwave, climb left to where the altar is & then move left across the level using the top tree platforms.
        
        Target Audience
        
        The game is suited for younger players who like platformers.
        
        The game has no adult themed content.
